Homes for 105 Families

On February 10, we began building the first of 105 homes for families who had lost their homes to Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmaegi). This is a project we are doing in partnership with the City of La Carlota.

A Brighter Future

Construction is on schedule and things are going according to plan. However, on March 1st, NVC President Millie Kilayko thought of a way to make the project even better. Since the 105 homes are being made out of marine plywood and bamboo, constant exposure to the elements will cause wear and tear. Ms. Millie thought of painting each home. The paint provide an extra layer of protection from the elements. Not only that, a pop of color will bring brightness to the neighborhood.

As of March 13, we have enough funding to paint 36 homes. Please contact us if you would like to help with this initiative.
