We’ve been turning over boats, but this time, it was a turnover of a different kind. We took a major step towards our efforts at providing livelihood opportunities in the Yolanda stricken areas when we turned over NVC’s fiberglass production operations in Leyte for the townsfolk of the Municipality of Javier to operate. On the same occasion, trainees received their TESDA certifications as graduate trainees in fiberglass boat manufacturing. Mayor Sandy Javier and Leyte Vice Gov Loreto were among those who attended. Present for NVC were our active members Engineer Benger Sambo who oversaw the fiberglass training and operations and Field Officer for Leyte-Samar-Biliran Alyne Batano. Both have given up the comforts of home for months to be assigned to this area. Watch out for the next livelihood project turnover!
