To bring some holiday cheer to families affected by the typhoon, we had some celebrations for communities on both Christmas day and New Year’s day. On Christmas day, in addition to the usual relief bag, we gave out cotton candy and teddy bears for the kids and a roast chicken per family. One New Year’s day, in addition to what we gave out on Christmas day, we also gave out mats and blankets. We also had a show to entertain everyone. There was a magician, a mascot and clowns.
We’d like to thank all those who made this surprise possible: Tay Tung High School students sponsored the loot bags, the talent fees of one clown and the magician as well as the lechon manok. SM City Bacolod provided the teddy bears. Super Lucky Beagler Inc allowed Lucky the Mascot to be present. Big J the Magician waived his talent fees. Philippine Business for Social Progress gave each family a bag of groceries, rice, a blanket and a mat. And the friend of Pinky A “sharelebrated” for her by sponsoring the cotton candy treat.
Thank you as well to the NVC Team of seven who volunteered to be action persons for this New Year’s Day affair. In addition to our Field Staff, we had volunteers from Admin and the Mingo Production Plant as well.
