NVC Foundation at Himbon: The 39th Negros Trade Fair

History of the Negros Trade Fair

The Negros Trade fair is the longest running provincial trade fair in the Philippines. While it started out as a way to get the island of Negros in the Visayas back on its feet after the sugar crisis of the 1980s, the trade fair has become a much-awaited annual event. Every September, the Negros Trade fair brings to Metro Manila the best of what Negros has to offer. From food to furniture, clothing to crafts and many more in between, everything comes together under one roof. Through the years, the Negros Trade Fair has been held at various locations, usually in the City of Makati.

Negros Trade Fair 2025

NVC Foundation joined the 39th Negros Trade Fair which ran from September 23 to 28. This was the trade fair’s debut at the SMX Convention Center of SM Aura in BGC, Taguig City. The organizers chose ‘Himbon’ which means ‘to gather’ as the theme of this year’s trade fair. It was indeed a delightful gathering of Negrenses and people from all over from Metro Manila.

As we do every year, we brought over beautiful mosaic tile and upcycled Nespresso coffee capsule crafts. These crafts are what the Artisans of Hope are known for. We unveiled a special collection of tabletop mosaic art pieces. Dubbed “Scenes from the Sweet Spot”, the collection showcases iconic scenes that represent our home province of Negros Occidental.

More Mingo Meals

We did very well at the trade fair this year. Proceeds from all the items in our booth went to our Mingo Meals Nutrition Program and we raised enough for 12, 391 Mingo Meals. These meals will put stunted Filipino children on the road to better health and a brighter future. Of course, every piece made by the Artisans of Hope helped put food on their own tables.

We would like to thank everyone who made this happen. Thank you to our Artisans of Hope who made such beautiful crafts. Thank you to our dedicated staff assigned to the booth and the volunteers who assisted them. And thank you so much to everyone who shopped at our booth and supported our staff. Madamo gid nga salamat!
