Fiberglass boat production training On June 24, 2014, fiberglass boat production technology transfer began for 30 Sagay trainees. The training was done at NVC’s Bacolod City fiberglass boat plant.   Their day started with an orientation by Garth Noel Tolentino, NVC’s volunteer project manager for fiberglass boat production, to be followed by a weeklong hands-on program.   This is part of NVC’s commitment towards providing sustainable livelihood opportunities in areas hit by Typhoon Yolanda. Aside from underwriting their training costs, the program also provides trainees with basic tools and equipment, as well as a purchase order of at least 120 boats.   Someday, we hope to see them making more than just boats but tricycle cabs, toilets, desks and chairs.   More than that, we hope to see them our trainees with improved lives and provide their children access to better stations in life.
