On October 7, 2014, NVC turned over fiberglass technology and production equipment to boost livelihood opportunities in Sagay City, Negros Occidental. The technology turnover also came with an initial purchase order for 100 fiberglass Peter Project fishing boats, donated by various institutions and individuals to help fishermen who lost their boats to Typhoon Yolanda last year.

This is NVC’s second fiberglass technology turnover to a Typhoon Yolanda-hit area. The municipality of Javier in Leyte is the site of the first fiberglass plant.

To commemorate the partnership, NVC Trustees Millie Kilayko, Mariel Tolentino, Mary Ann Mirasol and Tima Lacson, handed over miniature boats to Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Maranon, 2nd District Representative Congressman Leo Cueva, Sagay Mayor Thirdy Maranon, and Museo sang Bata sa Negros President Dr. Marilyn Maranon. Joining the occasion were NVC’s fiberglass production team, composed of Project Manager Noel Tolentino and Plant Supervisor Engineer Benger Sambo.
